ENDLESS EXXXSTASY, VOLUME 2

Perhaps the busiest one-man show this side of Mike Hosty, Ultra Flesh Archive’s Mark Murray’s insatiable quest to break the will of the puritanical menace that is ever lurking in our culture continues with Endless Exxxstasy, Volume 2, a choice grab bag of loops curated and restored by Murray from his voluminous, personal stash. A welcome reprieve from the dog days of summer (being served in Oklahoma City with an EXTRA helping of canine in 2026) Murray bursts through the wall like a smut slinging Kool-Aid Man flashing a lusty lootbox featuring 137 minutes of pure carnality.

Once again loosed from having to concentrate on a single performer, this volume of Endless Exxxstasy is another collection that aims to have a little bit of everything, and from curious amateurs to recognizable, top line stars, the fourteen titles included in the playlist covers a lot of ground. What distinguishes Volume 2 is the mighty current of joy that runs throughout its ample running time. Not that good times are in short supply in any of the UFA releases, but this package is powered by the myriad grins seen throughout each title. As if a thesis statement is being made, the would-be starlet in the opener smiles so much that the top part of her head threatens to unhinge itself backwards.

VACUUM VIXEN – A loop played directly to the audience, it’s a great display of some fun, amateur solo work with a game unknown. The proliferation of fair prizes used as props in these things is a little troublesome, but mostly because they seem really itchy to be around when in a state of undress. Though the vacuum doesn’t appear until the final few minutes, it’s still a great build up that’s edited in-camera.

GEISHA GIRL – Mostly highlighted by its all-girl threesome, if you were looking to see some fun lesbian action back in the day, this would have been a good selection from the catalog and worth your money. All of the anonymous performers are well into the shoot and everything is capped off with a nicely framed daisy chain. Can’t vouch for the wig that’s worn by the lead, though.

HERE COMES SUPERMAN – A biker begins a gunpoint assault on a woman, and Jamie Gillis pops onto the scene in a Superman outfit looking a great deal like Andy Kaufman as he bugs his eyes almost completely out of his head. He saves the damsel and… you know the rest. A humorous attempt at action that gets a genuine laugh or two, if I were running a dirty theater, I’d program this to run right before Joe Sherman’s Ms. Magnificent.

BEAUTY IN BLACK LACE – A well-composed loop with Susan Tinkley and a stud on a wild, multicolored bedspread. Much more polished than any of the previous loops in the collection, Murray’s restoration work really pops on this one. A particularly nice use of mirrors, and observably directed by someone who knew what they were doing.

SECRETARY’S DELIGHT – A very permed Eric Edwards sits on a cramped set with two anonymous thrill seekers which develops into a threesome. A very intriguing title because it comes across like a randy couple with an 8mm camera hired Eric Edwards to come over and play around with them. Both of these people share a kind of earthiness that is inherent in a lot of the performers in this collection, suggesting that blurring the line between regular folk and real stars is a hidden theme.

SWEET SUE – A loop that features even more anonymous performers enjoying themselves without any pretense. As is the case with a lot of the no-name people that were adventurous enough to do this in front of the camera, each loop reflects a fascinating story about which I’d love to know more. In all honestly, the guy in this looks a little like the dude who ran the race against Chris Makepeace at the end of Meatballs.

I LOVE TO FUCK – Georgina Spelvin and a guy have some beer-fueled fun (and if they weren’t a little in the bag, I’d be surprised). This appears to be pretty early in the game (maybe 1974). In fact, it’s almost like watching a spinoff encounter from the middle part of Devil & Mrs. Jones. It’s crude, but it’s edited in a way that makes Spelvin look positively insatiable. For whatever reason, this seems important.

SANDWICH GIRL – A star-studded threesome with Robin Sane, Dave Ruby, and George Payne. Another one where the restoration work is of particular note as a lot of knotty pine and earth colors are invaded by Sane’s hair and panties, both of which create some flashes of color. Not for nothing, but this selection is some pretty hot stuff.

MIMI – A very feathered Chrissy Stevens and Smokey sip malts and make out which develops into something more. It also becomes a covert ad for KY given how much of it is used in the film. Stevens slathers it virtually everywhere except her mouth.

TWO ON A ROD – Easily the best in show when it comes to the restoration work, Lisa Cintrice, Terry Galko, and Ray Wells set off all the smoke alarms in a threesome that is rendered clear as a bell. Amazing stuff that, no hyperbole, looks almost new. Watching Terry Galko get lost in utter sexual bliss never looked as good.

SWEET STRAWBERRY – Jesse Adams tries to bed down his red-headed secretary who is taking dictation. Adams is wearing a shirt and aviator shades that looks like he should be doing a remote from an African safari, or introducing zoo animals on Johnny Carson. This is definitely a no-nonsense title that would have turned up in the secret stash of many a dad.

HONEY BEE – Guessing the year of a particular piece of smut by Joey Silvera’s hairstyle is usually as precise as the science found in carbon dating, so this one looks like it was produced around 1974. A simple setup abruptly becomes a confusing cuck session. Not sure if the final joke lands or not, but Silvera was a pretty funny actor so his facial expression during his exit is worth it.

MAID SERVICE – John Leslie and Lori Blue star in another simple setup, though with some dissolves and other touches to make it seem like a cut above. Leslie was always such a compelling actor that one wishes this one had sound. Luckily, he was as good a sexual performer so that’s a quibble for a great scene with a terrific ending.

HARD SELL – Eric Stein visits a fire sale and gets feisty with the proprietor. This one really has a lot of colors and textures to offer, and its setup is pretty cute. Stein was always a reliable stud so the sex in this one is pretty terrific, making this a fantastic closer on this collection.

As is the case with the Endless Exxxstasy run of releases, the extras on the disc are scant. This is mostly because this series is noted as a no-frills adventure into the 8mm galaxy where you get a window seat to view many stars and other items of interest during your trip. For the loop collections, it makes little since to get a bonus loop unless it’s way outside the scope of the main feature and/or has some kind of historical relevance. Such is the case with 260-1, the bonus black and white softcore loop that runs for about six minutes, which fits that mold perfectly. If the main feature on the disc had a good portion of gritty, down-and-dirty shorts with mysterious nobodies having a hell of a time on camera, this is its earlier progenitor. Stark lighting and some intense camera angles mix with some aggressive grinding on a huge bed with a plush and heavy blanket. It looks like it should be projected on the wall of a 1967 freak out while The Velvet Underground blares through the speakers.

Found in all the UFA releases, there is a restoration featurette, and this one goes to show just how rough of shape some of these were. Aside from those that look like they were fed through a bleach machine before they showed up on Murray’s doorstep, some of these loops had queasy pink or gold hues that go beyond simple crayon colors and could only be described as “Mr. Bubble Vomit” or “Dehydrated Urine”. Getting these things into presentable shape has to be quite a task. A stack of trailers for all of UFA’s current releases rounds out the on-disc extras.

Of course, at least part of the fun of their releases is the packaging. Though these are slightly lighter than the star-centric releases UFA has produced (Leslie Winston and Serena), the Endless Exxxstasy series is not trying to leave you high and dry by any means. Like their previous three releases Volume 2 comes in a brown paper bag, and I feel the need to keep them stored in there and displayed that way. This robs my shelf of some colorful and eye-catching spines, but it also suggests the thrill of the verboten entertainment that hides inside of every similar looking bag of goods exiting an adult bookstore. The selection is helpfully included on an insert that has an order form replication on its reverse side. Also included are some trading cards with UFA Hall of Famers. The cards are randomized so not everyone will get the same ones, but, for what it’s worth, I got a Lisa Cintrice and a Gloria Leonard this time round. Last, but not least, a condom is included. God knows I need it after blowing through the last three.

UFA’s output continue to impress, and the Endless Exxxstasy series has thankfully been established as a firm staple on the release schedule. The randomness of the loops in each collection remains one of its strongest suits and, it its very best, it’s like coming across a giant bureau in the back recesses of an estate sale and each one of its multiple drawers were stashed with stacks of Golden Age smut. Going in blind and letting Murray’s playlist unspool is a sincere thrill, and he definitely has a captive audience at this point. May he continue to program countless Saturday night festivities for the foreseeable future.
